Person Centered Thinking™ Training

Nurture Care Services offers Person-Centered Thinking™ (PCT) Training, helping participants develop skills to support individuals in a truly personalized way. The course covers core concepts like Important To, Important For, and tools like Relationship Mapping and Communication Charts. By the end, participants will create a Person-Centered Description and One Page Description.

Nurture Care’s Person-Centered Plan Facilitation Training

Nurture Care Services is excited to offer Person-Centered Thinking™ (PCT) Training! This course, developed by The Learning Community for Person-Centered Practices, equips participants with essential skills to support individuals in a way that truly reflects their needs and desires. Participants will learn core concepts like Important To, Important For, and the balance between them, while practicing critical tools such as Relationship Mapping, Communication Chart, Good Day/Bad Day, and more. By the end of the course, you’ll have the foundation for creating a personalized Person-Centered Description and a One Page Description to guide meaningful support for others.

Nurture Care Services is proud to offer Person Centered Thinking™ (PCT) training! Developed by The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices, Person Centered Thinking is a valuable course that provides its participants the skills they need to think in a way that is truly focused on the person, helping people feel heard and be supported in the ways they desire. In this course, participants work as partners and in groups to expand their skills by learning and practicing the core concepts of Important To, Important For, and the balance in between. Participants will also explore critical skills that help us uncover what is truly meaningful to the person including, Relationship Mapping, Communication Chart, Two Minute Drill, Rituals and Routines, Good Day/Bad Day, What’s Working/What’s Not Working, 4 + 1 Questions, Learning Log, The Donut Sort, and Matching. Using the insights gained from these skills, in collaboration with deeply listening to the person, will help you act on what you learn to support people in a way that is most meaningful to them. By the end of the course, you will have the first draft of your own Person-Centered Description as well as your own One Page Description.

Person Centered Thinking is for everyone! Families, direct support professionals, case managers, assessors, supervisors, Designated Coordinators, Designated Managers, and leaders can all benefit from this course.

Person Centered Thinking training has two options to meet your learning needs: In Person: Two 8-hour days of training at your location or Nurture Care’s training facility in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Virtual: Four 4-hour sessions divided over two weeks.

Nurture Care offers PCT every other month in varying session formats.
